Thread: MHI vs UHI

I have an america 05 w209 (facelift) and would like to know whether it would make a difference if I installed a UHI or MHI system for the addition of a phone. Any limitation in functionality?

usa + mhi = happy

europe + uhi = happy

and logical question follows...
where can I find an MHI kit for my w209?
Comand Online Ltd appears to have only UHI

Sadly, I think you have to find a US source.

Interestingly, I know that people have installed UHI on US vehicles and it has worked - but I dont know for sure it will work on all.

Also I know for certain that MHI with a European head unit means address book transfer doesnt work , someone I was talking to even swopped the controller and cradle to UHI and a european cradle and it still didnt work, so something is not as simple as it seems.
