Default Adding euro navigation to us clk

Hi guys,

Is it possible to install a european comand system or audio 50 on a north american (usa) 2005 clk320 (facelift) with an audio 20. What would be the differences between installing a euro comand or audio 50 system instead of us comand system?

And a small aside. I have a HK audio system. I noticed that the base rattles too much (like a cheap audio system) so i pulled off the cover and placed my finger on the center and applied pressure and it stopped ratling. When I remove my finger the rattles resumes. Is there a fix to this?

Thanks a ton

Assuming the car is staying in North America, the answer is no because the systems are very differenrt and North American maps are not available for the EU system and vice-versa.

If the car is coming to europe, it is a straight swap, although you probably will have issues with phonebook download via the phone system.

If you PM alfie on this forum, I have some recall that he has (or had) a used Audio-50-APS with european map disks for a CLK that could be had at a good price.

I dont know of a fix to your bass problem, are you actually touching the cone ? If so I suspect the sub may be broken :-(

the car will be staying in the us so i guess euro system is a no go. im actually touching the center of the sub (black part) maybe if i stuffed cotton or a rag underneath the cover in order to reduce the rattle. would that be harmful in any way?

You are preventing the speaker from moving, and thus reducing the bass response. I guess it puts more load on the amplifier, but I doubt that will be a problem. I'd look for a new speaker ..

What's the part number if you don't mind. I'm talking about the speaker/sub behind the left rear passenger headrest. Thanks in advance

Sorry for delay - need your chassis (VIN) number to find that
