Thread: W204 Audio 20 to Command - possible?

I have a 2009 W204 with audio 20 and telephone prep and would like to upgrade to Comand system. Is this possible and is it easy?
I can get hold of the following comand units A 204 870 3496 and A204 820 4697.

Its possible, but not that easyl

You need to
change display & control unit & centre fan vents
add ventilation ducts and fans (or COMAND cooks itself)
add new switch in centre fan vent
add new wiring loom and splice into existing wiring loom
code and install map disks.

An easy alternative is the 'UMI' or Navigation-20 which is a easy retrofit and will then give you navigation (I do not know if there are Gibraltar maps on it) and iPod functions (controlled from the Audio-20) which include bluetooth audio streaming.
