    Default Command for Vito

Hi, I recently fitted an Audio 20 to my MB Vito and now can fit command.
Could you please answer the following questions for me:
Once the command is fitted, what differences will it make for me - i.e. what will i have that I didn't have before? Is there other devices I could then add?
Is SatNav OK on the smaller 100x35 screen?
Would I have to buy any CDs for it to work?
What is the hardware inside the command?
Is the command for the Vito easily obtainable 'used'?
Thanks for any help you can offer me.

    Hi
Navigation, better sound, Nicer looking ! If you add phone full phonebook access nicely visible.
Dont put the Audio-50 black and white system in, put the colour COMAND system
You will need a map DVD disk.
I don't know exactly what is in a COMAND
Yes, use the A/B class COMAND part number starting with A169
You will also need a GPS antenna, often suppliers of used COMANDs supply a map disk and a GPS antenna

    Default RE:Command for Audio 20

Thanks Richard, one last question - the audio unit only plays CDs, How would I use a DVD, or did you mean to say CD ?

COMAND (NTG2) uses a DVD data disk for it's map disk, containing whole of a continent (in my case Europe). But it can only play audio from CDs and can not play DVD audio/video or disks full of MP3 either

(USA/Canada COMAND (actually MCS-II) can play MP3 though)

Hi Richard, I am now switching my attention to the COMAND APS NTG2.5 HDD unit. Would this be a straight replacement for the audio20? If not, I would be grateful if you could tell me of any differences.
    Thanks once again.....

Pretty easy, you need an adapter kit, bluetooth antenna and antenna splitter - available in a kit with instructions here:-

Comand Online Ltd :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: Current W169 A, W245 B, Sprinter, Vito, Viano :: A/B/CLC/ML/GL/R COMAND NTG2.5 (Hard Disk) retrofit kit - cars without phone.

(above is for cars without phone, so includes microphone)
