    Question

    Hi
I have managed to remove the Bose amp. I have fitted the fibre optic joiner. The head unit can now see the CD changer and the cd's are playing. Obviously there is no sound. Will this be the amp or could it be something else, i.e no power to amp etc. No one seems to repair them in the UK( or what I can find). I accessed the amp from the bottom so I think I will have trouble getting a meter to test the cable for power. I have seen them on Ebay for £300-£400. What do you think.
    Thanks for all the help
    Dylan.

It could either be an amplifer fault, or a power to the amplifier fault. You need to look at the fuse details (which I think are in the fusebox under the bonnet) and check the fuse. (suspect the former, hope it is the latter as I've only ever seen the fuse blow with a broken amp)

Use Search4CarParts to search for the BOSE amp - it is good at finding cheaper listings on eBay (by checking in multiple languages (german, italian, french) etc etc)

As you have discovered its fiddly to get at !!

    Cheers
