Default W219 iPod interface retrofit post install questions

2006 CLS500, Euro, left hand steering, HK audio.

I purchased all the necessary parts from comandonline.co.uk and installed everything without a hitch thanks to your online tutorials. The whole system works, but I was left with these two questions:

    1) In trunk, where the iPod loom connects to the AGW, there's the little blue connector which you are supposed to swap the brown/red and brown wires out of. Did that, but there's no socket for the blue connector. Is it supposed to be left dangling there?

    2) In the center console box, there's no place for the iPod cable connector to be tucked away. The small shelf on which the iPod cradle rests on is already packed tight with the existing wires and the cable coming from the cradle is fairly short (~10cm) and thick, which further limits the potential places for the connectors. What is the manufacturer proposed place for this connector?

The cradle with the big connector in question: comandonline.co.uk...

    Thank you!

    Hi

    1) Its just left dangling. Its the car's CANbus, but now the iPod kit sits between the car's CANBUS (where you connected to the distributor at the front) and the AGW intercepting the messages so it can display on the cluster.

    2) There's no official place .. When i've fitted in the past I take a nick out of the front corner of the phone console piece (at the bottom) and bring the cable out there, with a few inches to plug the piece hanging out of the iPhone cradle in and then it can sit against the front edge of the centre console box. You could (if you dont mind sticky) tape it in place with the felt from the iPod kit, but I suspect thats going to be messy when you remove it.

I suspect you can probably get it all behind the phone console piece but then you'll have a load of dismantling if you want to take the iPhone cradle out.

The blue connector is there to stop unused CANbus wires from touching or shorting out. It is just a convenience.
