Thread: Cradle/phone for MB W211 E 320 CDI 9/2008

Hi!
I bought a week ago a MB W211 E 320 CDI 9/2008, with Comand DVD, but without cradle for the phone.
I was using in my former W211 pre-facelift nokia's 6210 phone with the fixed cradle phone system.
I tried the MB HFP bluetooth module with several nokia's phones but I get no connection (I know that 6210 won't work).
I need a smartphone (if possible with real keys better than just soft touch) to replace both the nokia phone and a Hp Jornada Pda, and for me it's very important to get the phone book available and make and receive phone calls using the steering wheel controls, the instrument cluster display and the screen on the stereo / Sat-nav (Comand) system.

So, what Bluetooth module shall I get? And what phone?

The HFP should work fine with most phones (including any Nokia after about 2003 !!) (but no phonebook on the Nokia smart phones)

Are you even managing to pair ?

Im not a phone expert, but the latest Blackberry works properly with the HFP and people with it seem to rave about it .. I'm an iPhone fan myself, and that works with the HFP , but I suggest the iPhone dedicated cradle for that as it charges and uses external antenna and is bluetooth.
