Default Can I connect a USB memory stick to new Audio-20

    Hi,

Is there a means by which I can wire a USB memory stick into the back of a new Audio-20, or will I need some electronics in the middle? My ideal plan is to use a USB drive full of MP3s that can sit in the glove compartment.

I don't want to have to buy a full iPod kit (esp as I don't have an iPod!), if I can get away with soldering up a couple of cables... My alternative would be to connect up a simple Aux input, and revitalise my old MP3 player - but then I won't have any control from the main unit.

    Thanks

    Richard

No, you need some device to convert the digital music to analogue and then feed in through the AUX in. Or, if your COMAND has the fibre optic port on it (not all Audio-20 do) then you could retrofit Media Interface (much more expensive than iPod kit but full control from the Audio unit), Or you could fit Universal Media Interface ( which also gives you that and full navigation )

The standard iPod kit gives control/display on the instrument cluster only

There is no option which costs less than an iPod kit and an iPod.
