Thread: Speaker Upgrade in 2006 W203

I'd like to replace the factory/OEM speakers in my 2006 C230 sedan but I would like to keep my existing head unit. What options do I have for upgrading just the speakers?

Find a car (maybe used) at a dealer with Harmon Kardon and take it for a test drive. If you dont like Harmon Kardon then you will need to spend a lot of time and a lot of money working out the cones.

The brackets, for normal cones to fit in a mercedes, are on Germany ebay. They are an adaptor ring.

BTW, there are adapters so you can put standard size speakers into the odd size holes in the W203. So you can easily change the speakers

For instance:

(although these are for pre 05 facelift, so maybee W203 post facelift has sensible size holes)

There will also be speaker manafacturers that make W203 size speakers as there are a significant amount of W203 cars made..

However, finding speakers you like the sound of is more tricky since auditioning them in situ is unlikely to happen.
