Dear all, I could do with some help here. I just bought a HFP Bluetooth cradle for my 2005 E320i Estate, it paired with my Nokia N96 with no problems but it will not pick up the contacts so all I get on the dash is a "no contacts" message.
I've already sorted my contacts on my N96 so there is now only one number for each contact but still no joy. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks

Sadly most of the N and E series (and the latest Nokias with GPS or very high res cameras (i.e those with the Symbian based software on them) don't support the address book download protocol that the Mercedes HFP sytems uses.
However, saying that, there are regular new software releases from Nokia for the phones and some of the newer releases of software support address book download. To add confusion, occasionally a newer release of software (such as the E71 at the moment) then stops working again :-( So, my advice a) Download the latest software for the phone from Nokia - Nokia on the Web and upgrade your phone. After the upgrade is done, unplug the phone battery for 10 mins - back your phone up first ! b) If that doesn't work, then the ViseeO MB-2 bluetooth adapter should work, as it has a chipset in it that uses an alternative mechanism to download the phonebook from the N/E series. Comand Online Ltd :: Phone Cradles & Adapters :: ViseeO MB-2 (formerly MBU2000) UHI Bluetooth for Mercedes Benz - Used HFP gets reasonable money on eBay, and of course if you purchase the MB-2 from the above link you should check the 'Member Special Offers' section here as there is often a discount voucher The ViseeO (unlike the HFP) is software upgradable, which means if a new phone doesnt work well they can fix the issue - for instance when the iPhone V2 software came out it was about 3 months before Apple did some iPhone software changes and it started working again - but ViseeO it was about 2 weeks. SAP = Simm Access Profile = Nokia
HFP = Hands-free Protocol = Most brands (limited phone book support) Motorola cradle = Motorola phones. At first glance it seems to be the wrong cradle.

PS, the new version of the Mercedes HFP cradle (which will arrive very soon) supports PBAP profile, so should transfer from the fancy Nokias, and Android 2.0 phones etc
