On NTG2.5 (i.e W211 E class, not W212 E class) you can code the reversing camera in the DAS engineering mode, its just one of the items in the menus under 'Development Data' -> 'Control Unit Adaptations' menu.

If this is a car where NTG2.5 was a factory fit option (i.e MY2009) or even factory fitted the correct way to do it though is to have option 218 (reversing camera) added to the datacard at Mercedes and then SCN code the COMAND.

(and of course option 527/512 instead of whatever was there before if you are retrofitting NTG2.5 to a MY09 car)

    Thumbs up

    Dear richard

    It is new E W212054 with NTG2.5 code 512 . MY2009
No code 218 in vehicle's datecard.
As you said it is impossible to reset coding using engineer mode in comand right?

    how E211 do that?
i have seen vedio clip in youtube.com , it seem to be done in E212.
you mean i must add code 218 to datecard frist, how ? if i get into SCNcoding
,could i just code 218 without datecard?
    sorry to my poor english.

    hope to meet you soon.

I've only used Xentry on 212, and Xentry has no developer mode. The correct thing to do with W212 is have the datacard updated (the owner can do this by hastling the Mercedes Customer Service in your country) and then SCN code the COMAND.

I didn't think that DAS supported the W212/W207 only Xentry (but maybe it does if Xentry is not installed)
