Thread: Audio-20 [install in 2008 Vito]

Hi, I'm looking for an audio-20 to replace my audio-10 for my 20008 Vito 639. Does anyone know if any Audio-20 will fit or is it only a specific model.

I thought the Vito got the Audio-5/Audio-20 from about 2006 - so I think you are trying to replace the Audio-5 with an Audio-20.

One from an A, B, Vito, Viano will all fit and work, others wont.

You need an adapter loom also, which wires to the CANbus distributor in the drivers outside kick panel.

Thanks for the prompt reply Richard, you are correct it's an audio-5. That sorts it out for me, I've spent lots of time looking at car audio-20's wondering if they would fit.
Your right, they seem to be out of stock, I will mail them. Also, I've found one on Ebay it seems to be in Italian, but the company appears to be German called AL-CAR TECHNOLOGY.They are selling at £178, but obviously I'd rather deal direct with a UK company.
My local MB dealer has today quoted me £1400 to buy new for the Vito......

Would you mind explaining what the A/B refers to with regards to Vito, Viano.

Yes Richard, they have mailed me this morning and I'ved replied asking for the prices of the unit, adapter and postage, hopefuly I'll have it on the way soon.

Would you happen to know:
do I need a fascia adapter and or metal cradle for this unit
does this unit have any aux capablity or a cd changer input.

It has an AUX input (and can be connected to a Mercedes CD changer also)

The AUX can be connected to an iPod via one of these (you have to drill a 19mm hole)

and a 3.5mm -> 3.5mm cable
