Default Retrofit APS50 to COMAND 2.5

    Hi. I have a W211 Year 2007 with APS50 Navigation no phone. I want to install a COMAND 2.5. Model BD0880 A211 870 49 94
When reading about this subject I see that it is common to do the installation from the trunk, because the AGW is located here. I have looked in the trunk and cant find the AGW. (pitcure attached). Is it possible to install from front. Plug & Play ? With regards from Norway.

The AGW is hidden up between the inner and outside wings on the left hand side of the trunk.

You need a converter loom that runs from back of car to front, a bluetooth antenna and a microphone for the phone

Comand Online Ltd :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: W211 last E, W219 CLS :: W211/W219 E/CLS/SLK NTG1 to COMAND NTG2.5 conversion set for cars without phone

If you refer to my 'Comand APS W211' retrofit document, it has pictures of where the AGW is, and how to dismantle stuff which will make the install quite easy

Default Retrofit APS50 to COMAND 2.5

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. I looked at your link about installation (very nice). But what picture actually shows the AGW ? How do I install the Microphone and Bluetooth antenna? And finally do you know if the linguatronic system will work ?

Done some more investigation and I found this link from MB. http://www.mercedestechstore.com/pdf...2009-03-02.pdf It shows in detail W211 networking.

No sound. It seems like the unit is set up with HK . Is it possible to change this without installing the unit into another vehicle with 2.5 already installed and run STAR diagnostic?

You need an independant with Star Diagnosis and 'factory' (developer) mode to re-code it

I assume you answered the other questions - (sorry I didnt see them) - the pictures only showed the AGW wiring and the screws for the bracket.

Everything is in place now. The sound problem was only a bad connection. DVD,Radio and memory card shows in the instrument cluster but It reads "function unavailable" for phone , and I cant find a place to fit a linguatronic lever on the steering wheel. Anyone who know how to fix?

Someone with Star Diagnosis needs to enable 'Phone/iPod' in the instrument cluster coding, which will add the phone menu and make the phone buttons function properly.

To add the linguatronic switch, you need to get
    a) new switch pack for steering wheel with linguatronic switch (which includes cruise lever)
    b) linguatronic lever (plugs into above)
    c) steering column cowl with cutout for lingatronic lever, in correct colou
    d) plastic cover to go round the cutout

You then remove airbag & steering wheel (ignition off or you will get the SRS light), remove column cowl (which brings the switch pack with it), disassemble it all and install new switch pack and re-install.

Its relatively complex and you have to be careful not to break anything ..

[NB, USA cars often have all except the lever in place, you can see the hole for the lever opposite the cruise control lever]
