I've just bought a new Mercedes E Coupe (W212), with an APS Command as navigation system. I don't have any DVD, maps are in a internal hard disk.
Can be upgraded with a DVD when they're obsolete? Which is the version or model of the navigation disks (NTG-???) ? Has this Command model (screen separated from central unit) any secret menu in order to see maps versions, hardware versions, ...? Thanks in advance. |

There is an update DVD. It copies to the HDD.

Its called NTG4-212 and the boxes have a light purple coloured stripe
Its different to the "NTG4" version which is for W204 C class and has a dark purple stripe. Engineering menu on W204 is acceseed by holding down the following 3 buttons for about 10 seconds: Phone hangup 1 # I suspect NTG4-212 is the same, please let us know if it works Cheers Richard Last edited by richard; 11-07-2009 at 04:20 PM. |

I can confirm that E-class coupe Command engineering menu can be accessed by pressing hangup-#-1 during 10 seconds.
A lot of menus and submenus appear (Navigation, HU, phone, audio,...), I don't know where to find the maps version. Perhaps is this... Teleatlas ES0722-06 2008.01 Last edited by akelarre; 11-07-2009 at 11:04 PM. |

Yes, but mapping that to the exact Mercedes release is impossible..
However, there have been no European map updates for the W212 yet.. R |
