Hi,
Just bought a 2005 CLK 320, the German version, and since today was the daylight savings change in my country (México) I've been trying to adjust the time with no real success. Just like the User's manual says, the instrument cluster does not have the option (the U.S. manual for the same model says it does... but this car doesn't, perhaps different software) and the Audio 50's manual says "the option to change time is not enabled if you don't have GPS satellite reception". So there was nothing to do, the Serv -> System -> Time button didn't do a thing... but I'm sure we have GPS satellites available, my guess was the system needs to be programmed to know which ones to look for or something. Using the NAV key goes as far as asking for a CD, we get no CDs in this Country (no maps available for M-B cars), so I got hold of one of the navigation CD for Europe, inserted it and there were several upgrades (one said "Upgrading GPS"), after that the clock moved to GMT, GPS data shows all zeroes (longitude, latitude, altitude, and most interesting: number of satellites). After that I was able to adjust the clock the usual way, but in increments of half an hour. I'm not sure what the radio synchronized to, but its off by about 15 minutes. Couple of questions: - Does anybody know of a good procedure to set the clock in these circumstances? - Would using a navigation CD for my time zone (which is CST) improve things? Perhaps the CD for Texas has the necessary data (GPS- and timezone- wise, not the maps); I don't really know if we use the same satellites. Thanks. |

SOLVED: The car just needed to move, it took some time, about half an hour, but it started picking up satellite signals and when I had 6 I entered the clock settings and it was synchronized, then just adjusted again for my time zone.
