We live in the US and just bought an ML320CDI (W164) 2009 Model with Comand APS NTG 2.5. We would like to take the car back to Germany when we eventually move back next year.
I understand from other posts that the US Navigation systems from prior model years where MCS-? and where not usable in Europe.
However, it seems that the 2009 navigation system is actually quite similar to the European one. Does anyone have experience with getting the US system to work in Europe?

We think its the same, and can be coded by someone with Star Diagnosis in developer mode (and then the EU maps loaded onto the hard disk)

New EU maps are due in 2 weeks, so dont buy any yet.

We have not tried this yet, and it maybe that EU maps just load straight away !

Is there a chance that the radio frequency spacing can also get re-programmed so that I can pick up radio stations on even frequencies?

That only applies to the AM stations. You may find yourself using FM which is not affected
