Thread: SL [R129] audio / navigation

what is the original audio unit for my 1994 r129 sl500? are there any options for later models of unit that match and have sat nav?

I dont know what was the original - the default in UK cars was a dealer fit Sony system. But I put the Audio-30-APS unit from a 2000 SL into my 1997 SL (and added the fibre optic D2B CD changer, and the phone system) and it all worked very nicely.

The Audio-30-APS is still supported by Mercedes and map updates are still made regularly.
