This will convert the Audio-10/COMAND2.0 A/B plugs to the DVD based COMAND (NTG2)

And this can then be used to convert NTG2 to NTG2.5 (one of the top 2 depending on whether you have phone or not)

The NTG2.5 and DVD COMAND units use different CAN information to talk to the cluster, so not 100% sure whether the DVD/NTG-2.5-HDD units could talk to the car.

I presume you will use a CLC NTG2.5 unit, and of course Comand 2.0 is a different shape to the NTG2 and the NTG2.5 units.

Yes that is corect. I use the CLC unit. And for fitment I change everything to the facelift look lik in the pic.

Yes ! one is converter from Din/ISO A/B connector + CANbus to NTG2 and the other NTG2->NTG2.5

But maybee I will suggest to the others at COMAND Online to make one product with both all assembled.

There is now a single product in comandonline webshop for converting the old type wiring (as found in cars with Audio-10, Audio-30, COMAND 2.0 (CD based) and the newer Audio-5) to NTG2.5

This is the type for cars with phone already (i.e kit includes extension lead rather than new microphone)

Before the facelift..



You have seen these steps before..















Panels gone..Just to remove the old comand.



Test so it worked.... Plug n play.



Test before continuing..



And Indy showed up.. :wink:



Center console removed so I can remove the old plastic panel.



Glovebox removed.



Then just mount the panel and do it all the way around..



Also this time Indy shows up..



All finnished..



So happy with this...



Splitscreen Navin .



MP3 from the harddisc.



Didnt like the original W203 cluster..So...



Bought a new one.



And had this one from W211 laying around so decided to upgrade
the black one with these.



Begin to dismantle..






There we go..MUCH more work than I thought..



Go for number 2..











Finnished..



Out with the old..



In with the new..



Test..1



Test 2...



All in place...

It can work if the cluster is 2003 and later. If it is older than that ... it may have some issues because the central gateway design was different in the older models.

If the Audio gateway in the newer navgiation responds to the 2000-2002airbag buttons then it can work but there is no chance of any further coding via diagnostic.

If all the parts are installed correctly it can be plug-and-play but there may also be a problem with random volume changes. Only one way to find out !
