A new navigation DVD, designed to help your customers find their destination with the minimum of fuss, is now available. The new update DVD for COMAND APS (NTG2.5) ensures that your custom- ers’ navigation system is up to the minute, with more countries and routes than ever before.
The two DVDs are packed with navigation data for 34 European countries, with major and minor roads, towns, villages and plenty of points of interest:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovak Republic, Slov- enia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Vatican City.

The 2011/2012 version covers the whole of Western Europe.
The navigation data on the 2011/2012 version covers almost 9.2 million kilometres of road throughout Europe.

In Eastern Europe there is full coverage of the Baltic states, Greece, Croatia, Poland, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
Prime Coverage and Complete Coverage* have been significantly extended in the following country:
    • Romania: +39%

The navigation DVD features 91,832 towns and communities.

The option of being guided directly to the required house number has also been extended:

There is, for the most part, full house number coverage in central and northern European coun- tries, while coverage has been significantly improved in the following countries:
    • Croatia: +36%
    • Greece: +2%

    Points of Interest (POI)
    • Over 2.2 million key points of interest are featured on the DVD, including Filling stations, Car parks, Museums, Restaurants and Hospitals. There are around 297,000 more POIs here than on
    the previous version.
    • 72,793 Restaurants and 3,130 Hotels have been added to the new 2011/2012 version.
The navigation system can also, if required, show the user the quickest route to 2,628 Mercedes-Benz service outlets.
Details can be found in the appendix to this issue of the Telematics News.

Dynamic route guidance based on the latest traffic data (TMC/RDS)
Using the data from the Traffic Message Channel, the navigation system takes into account the latest motorway traffic bulletins and automatically calculates diversions. This convenient service is now available in 14 countries.

In most cars it is just put in the disk and let it update.

However, if the firmware in your COMAND is particularly old (pre mid 2009) then it will need updating by the dealer - which is worth having done in anycase as it fixes bugs, adds AUX volume control, and some other features such as being able to press the source buttons to switch between the valid sources.

Yes. V6 and V7 have the same requirement for firmware in the COMAND itself
