Which CD changer did you buy and which head unit are you trying to connect it to? Also, does the car already have fibre present? (ie phone prewire, BOSE, linguatronic etc)

Hi
I'm going to assume you have the MOST cd changer (if you send us the Mercedes part numer we can check)
- I have a feeling that the MC part is the D2B part for pre-facelift - you will know this because the fibre connector does not match the one on the fibre supplied with comandonline fitting kit.

The comandonline kit would have come with the CD changer power loom (which connects the ground in the passenger footwell, the wakeup distributor in the passenger footwell wiring duct and the fusebox at one end of the dashboard (can't recall which end, probably drivers end), and a fibre pair with connectors on both ends, some screws and a MOST fibre joiner.

You will have to disassembe the fibre connector on the COMAND unit and on the end of the supplied fibre also.

1) Look at the connector, pop out the blue locking piece, and look at the arrows on the connector
2) On the one going into the COMAND, remove the fibre from the slot with the arrow going into the COMAND away from the fibre.
3) Then remove the fibre from the slot with the arrow going the same way on the new cable and plug that into the one you vacated in step (2)
4) Then remove the remaining fibre from the new plug, and connect it to the fibre removed in step (2) using the supplied MOST joiner and then push the 2 halves of the joiner together to lock it

Also, when you install the wiring, ensure you fix the power cable so it can;t get trapped anywhere or rub.

I hope that helps

Richard

OK, pretty sure that that is a MOST bus CD changer. so fine

I dont have any pictures but if you look at the end of the dashboard when the door is open you can open the end panel and there is a fuse box in there. There is a fuse map in there, so you can see where the fuseholder on the wiring loom just plugs into it.

I'm sure you can find the ground point by removing the panels above and to the side of the passenger footwell and pulling carpet down. YOu may have to unbolt the 3 plastic bolts that hold the big aluminium foot rest you wil find there to get to the earth point.

The wakeup distributor is a connector 3cm x 1.5xm approx with lots of wires all the same as the wakeup wire on the cable harness, plug the connector into that connector
