Default Is it possible to upgrade a COMAND 2.0 DX to COMAND-APS (NTG2.5) on SL R230 and How?

    Hello,
I am based in France and I have a Mercedes SL 2003 (R230), with the original comand 2.0 DX, with analog TV tuner and phone connected with wire.

Is there a solution to replace this COMAND 2.0 DX by with a COMAND-APS (NTG2.5)?
What should be necessary ? : pieces with references? schema ?

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Regards,

I've done this :-) The more options you have/want working the more complicated it is. My car was a MY2004. I had everything and ended up with
NTG2.5, Media Interface, HK, Comfort Phone, DAB radio which has made me very happy with my car

    All 03 cars need
    i) COMAND
    ii) Mounting frame
    iii) Cupholders
    iv) Dashboard wooden/metal trim
    v) Wiring kit and GPS antenna

Note (v) may be a retrofit kit, or Original loom depending what you need from the list below. GPS antenna only needed if not replacing the main loom - as its cheapest way of getting GPS connector correct.

If you have BOSE, you will also need
    vi) HK amp
viii) All HK speakers including subwoofer
    ix) HK loom
    x) Fibre optics (configuration depends on what else you are adding

If you also want comfort phone, then you need all the comfort phone parts and a new lower section of the centre armrest and a different pipe that feeds air to the main glovebox as you no longer can feed air to the centre armrest glovebox
If you also want Media interface, then you need all the Media Interface parts, and a new frame that goes under the metal trim - you may get away without that.

If you want TV or DAB then you have a big job as you then need to use the proper wiring looms for COMAND and DAB and TV AND remove the dashboard to replace the antenna amplifierd to install the new antenna system.

NTG2.5 behaves better with the new antenna system

Comandonline can supply adapter looms (if you are not doing TV/DAB), GPS antenna, Media Interface and comfort phone kits.
