    Default R230 Bluetooth connectivity

For an R230 (2008) is there an upgrade / retrofit kit to connect COMAND and the media interface with the new Media Interface Plus so that (a) normal Bluetooth connectivity is available for a smartphone and (b) COMAND can access music and other features of a smartphone? the article in the enclosed link sheds some light on it the issue but is not definitive. I realize there may a cradle solution to (a) but perhaps not (b).

Assuming your car is MY2008 it has DVD based COMAND so can not support the Media Interface.

If it is Model Year 2009, and has Media Interface then you could install the Comfort Phone system and a iPhone 4 cradle which will plug into the Media Interface socket in the armrest, thus giving you bluetooth phone, and when the phone is plugged into the cradle your music will be accessible via the normal Media Interface menus on COMAND. This is what I do.
