Just had UMI installed in 08 C300. Works great. Per the manual should be able to display nav info in the inst cluster. Figured out that needs to be activated via the Nav menu which I don't have. From looking at the owners manual that is part of the Command system which I don't have. Does/should UMI add this function? Per the dealer all software is at the most current levels yet I question if I should be able to display info in the inst cluster. While the manual says yes it's not clear that Command is a pre-req to make it work.

Other than that - A great upgrade!

The dealer must, using Star Diagnosis, go into instrument cluster menu and tell it UMI is installed (I think its done from the "customer settings" star diagnosis coding menu - I did it once a few weeks ago, i've just forgotten the exact steps, but its in the cluster coding section of star diagnosis.
- This is not done in the normal way for doing retrofits of COMAND on W204 which would be to add an "option code" to the system, which is why he may have not known how to do it -

Just take it back and ask them to finish the job !! (and show them the above)

Just came back from the dealer. Followed Richards advice and we are good to go. First, the Nav option is now available as stated in the UMI and Owners manual and when selected turn-by-turn type data is displayed. Very nice!
