Default Comand APS versus Audio 50 APS

Hi,
I am about to buy a E250 CDI BE (year 2009). I have to decide on the options, one of which is the navigation.
My main aim is to use the navigation (I am not so much interested in phone and music). Please help me by answering the following questions:

1—Which are the advantages of Comand APS versus Audio 50 APS, as far as navigation is concerned?

2—Which are the advantages of Comand APS or/and Audio 50 APS compared to a portable navigator?

I have been using a TomTom ONE/XL Europe 42 navigator, and the two main problems I had with it, were the following:

2.1—The TomTom navigator was lagging behind, when I entered with a relatively high speed the road junctions.
If I passed quickly thru the junction, than the display lagged behind: I had to slow down in order to be able to identify the right road where to go out.
The same problem would be present if I had to turn in one direction, and than quickly in an other direction. I had to slow down, because the display was slower in taking the new position.

2.2—The TomTom navigator needed some time to receive the satellite signal (also 5 minutes), after the switching on of it. It were cases when I had to move by guessing, till the navigator stared to receive signal and recalculated the direction to follow.
Will I have the same problem with Comand APS? And with Audio 50 APS?

Thanks a lot,
Kimo

Comand APS offers a bigger colour screen and will have a superior sound system within it. It will also allow you to fit or have fitted the UCI (Media Interface). Lastly it WILL enhance the saleability and resale value of the car when you come to sell it.

In my experience these newer hard disk Comand units are better than the earlier DVD based ones as they are faster and have more features. I have not noticed any lag in positioning.

hope this helps,
