    Default Navigation for 2004 W211 (E320 Wagon 4Matic)

    I just bought a this car, and it does not have the navigation device installed.

    The head unit appears to be NTG2 with Harman-Kardon (it looks like http://www.mercupgrades.com/pictures...-NTG2-W169.jpg ).

    I would like to install/activate the navigation. What should I do? (I live in the US.)

    It would be ideal if I could also be able to use ipod/iphone with this HU. Any suggestion for this?

    Thanks,

    Patrick

    Hello,

    Can you send us the chassis/VIN number please?

    The image you have linked to is the NTG 2 system in an A class. The W211 e class from 2004 was NTG1 which is very different.

    If you do indeed have NTG1 without navigation, then adding it is very straight forward. Once we have the VIN we can advise further.

    Good news!

    All you need to activate navigation is a navigation drive, loom kit, GPS antenna and a navigation disk.

    The navigation drive is this one here;
    Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: Navigation Unit for E, CLS, SL, SLK, S, CL (NTG1)

    The loom is here;
    Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: W211/W219 (E/CLS) Navigation Drive Wiring Kit (NTG1)

    You may well already have the mounting bracket.

    The antenna is here;
    Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: Genuine MB GPS Antenna for DVD and Hard Disk COMAND APS

    Lastly a USA NTG1 navigation disk.

    The existing components will most likely see the navigation drive but you should get the MOST ring properly coded by your local dealer for completeness.
