Thread: Blacked out Comand

Hello friends. I've got a LHD 2004 SL55 which gets very little use. Recently the Comand Screen got completely blacked out and although the unit functions fine, I cannot control it without seeing the info on the screen. Also, I'd like to replace the knobs, any idea where I could get them? Your response will be appreciated. Steve

Parts for the SL comand systems are pretty much impossible to get, as they are relatively rare cars. It sounds like the display backlight has failed which means a new display

I think the knobs are the same as the C/CLK class COMAND (W203,W209). They are not the same as the older square COMAND fitted in W163 (old ML) or the very old C/CLK
