Default Wireless Rear view Camera [Viano]

I have just bought a wireless rear view camera, I have an October 2008 Viano with factory installed Command NTG2. Can you please tell me which fakra to connect it to? and which loom /adaptor I have to buy.The end of the transmit pod is a male. Do I have to press the Video button when I go into reverse? Do I need to ask the Mercedes dealer to activate this function as at the moment no video can be viewed although it does read the Navigation CD.

    Hi

The green fakra is the reversing camera / TV tuner input. However, the COMAND NTG2. in Viano does not support the reversing camera - I have tried enabling it, but it doesnt work.

If you get a W164 COMAND unit and swop the faces over, then it can be done.

The system won't recognise a TV tuner unless you have a TV tuner on the fibre optic network, so you can't persuade it there is a TV tuner to see.

The official dealer fit reversing camera for your age Viano has an extra monitor.

Only the NTG2.5 system (fitted for MY2011 (or poss MY2010 on Viano/Vito/Sprinter) and 2009 on passenger cars does support a reversing camera...

Hi Richard thank you so much for that. What about retrofitting a cruise control, you see as part of my work I do a lot of driving in Spain and they have as from today lowered the speed limit to 110km with hefty fines if you go over and have fitted many more un announced speed traps and cameras I thought it might be a good investment

On the passenger cars this is easy, you just add the steering column levers and code the engine management system.

I do not know for sure on the Viano though - maybee one of the other Guru's will add info
