Thread: 08 mercedes bens ml350 [add phone]

Hi,i installed a new command system in my 08 ml350 this unit came out of an 09 ml350 bluetec i connected everything as per instruction with wirings from mb command but nothing is working for instance if i hit the audio it says system unavailable,the disc plays but no sound,the blue tooth searches but doesn't find my phone.can anyone advise me here?

Did you buy the kit I mentioned above ?

It has the bluetooth antenna (connects to mustard coloured fakra connector, to make the bluetooth work, the antenna splitter to connect the FM/AM antennasto the black connector on the car's loom, and the modification info / wiring for getting the FM/AM antennas powered up, and converting any existing Mercedes iPod kit to work with the new unit.

If after that there is still no sound, then the unit has come from a car with Harmon Kardon and the unit needs to be coded by someone clever with Star Diagnosis to turn off the Harmon Kardon option (as mentioned in post 4 of this thread), but it will probably need coding in anycase or you'll probably get the 'anti theft' message after a few ignition on/off cycles.

how do I get the fm/am powered up?

according to your last thread you mentioned wiring modification to power up fm/am could you please tell me how.

You need to get power to the antennas.

Did you purchase a proper loom conversion kit?

yes I purchased all the neccesary wiring recommended by Richard to install this system.Tha navi antenna however was allready there and and I rewired the coonector as per the command manual I got from mercedes command in UK

American cars are generally not DIY because of the Teleaid.
