Smile iPod connection to audio 20 [C class]

    Hi
I have a c200 with audio 20, I have checked with dealer they have confirmed that the iPod loom will work with my car.
Can I fit this myself and can I set up without the aid of any special computers being plugged in at dealers to setup?
    Cheers
    Bob

If your car has the phone system (or the new C class with phone system built in) no coding is needed as it will have the phone menu in the instrument cluster enabled.

If there is no 'phone' menu on the cluster, then you need that turning on as that enables the phone buttons on steering wheel which are used to operate the iPod kit.

    Thanks for replying Richard
    My car is a 2005 model so I believe it's a w203?
So if I purchase n2g2 kit this should plug in and work as I have a pre installed phone system?

Do I still have to remove gear stick, air con controls, vents and top switches and finally radio to get to connector?

My last question does it come with instructions that show where to connect to behind radio unit.
    Thanks you in advance
    Bob

    Yes, NTG2 kit.

There are instructions how to fit this on Mercedes Electronics upgrades, installation and retrofits - and yes, you will have to remove the radio (and thus the gear stick, vents and lower control panel)
