    Default Issue updating Comand NTG1

    Hello,

A few weeks ago, the Comand of my 2005 SL55 started to act up, showing the "flash file system damaged" error message. Things got really bad (constant reset, error message showing up every time I would unlock the car), then got better. I no longer see the error message, but I still have some issues:
    - voice control doesn't work
    - clock automatically resets to German summer time
    - radio stations not memorised
I found a TSB on that topic suggesting that an update CD needs to be inserted in the head unit to update the software. I purchased the designated CD from comandonline.co.uk, but now I have a new problem.
Shortly after insertion, the head unit displays a message showing that the disc is being analysed (which is normal), but then after 5 minutes I see a new message asking me if I want to format the FFx folder (please see the enclosed picture).
The problem is that I can't press Yes. I tried to press all buttons but nothing happens. After a minute or so, the head unit will reset, then display the message that the disc is analysed, then the FFx message, then resets... so this is an endless cycle, until I eject the disc after a reset.
Can anyone please advise what I can do to move forward? Is SDS needed?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It sounds sadly like your COMAND may be broken which is why it can't update. I have never seen that message before when updating a COMAND
(that is a very windows like message box)

What I would do is to remove the fuse and re-install, and then try the update again...

Thanks Richard. I'm afraid you're right...

I'll try to remove the fuse and see if things get better. I also have a version of Star Diagnosis, so I'll try to see if there's a way to use it to force the install onto the head unit. I'll let you know if I'm successful.
