Default No audio on my W220, need a little help to investigate. [COMAND 2.0]

Hi everyone, I'm a newbe to this site, with a problem. My MY02 S500 just lost all audio and I need some help to define where the problem is before I attack everything.

    The symptoms.

This week was driving home and it appeared that not much sound volume was coming from the rear. I readjusted the fader value without much success. Ultimately I returned the settings to the original and let it pass thinking it was just my hearing.

Next day, returning from work I realize that there is no sound coming from the radio. Flick to CDC and it says it doesn't exist.

Decided to go into the radio functions ("mute + 1 +3") and get 5 errors listed below:

    N1111 0X0000 009 P
    N1116 0X0000 001 P
    N1112 0X0000 004 A
    N1114 0X0000 002 P
    B1780 0X0000 009 P

    Config shows

    POS ACTUAL CONFIG
    000 1C8 1C8
    005 000 108
    005 000 190
    005 000 0F0
    005 000 1F8
    005 000 000

Well I reset all the codes and ran the car today. The config has changed, all POS show as 000. But most interesting, for a short period of time, the error codes reported was

    N1111 0X01F8 001 A

    Shortly after I got:

    N1111 0X01F8 001 P
    N1112 0X0000 001 A

And then a little while later:

    N1111 0X0000 002 P
    N1112 0X0000 002 A

I take it that I have a failure in the "voice" portion of the D2B bus (1F8). Was wondering if any knowledgeable individual could confirm and expand on this.

    Resolution:

I just purchased the D2B bus connectors and jumpered out each unit in turn. It looks like it was the phone module that went south. I now have the radio again, now to get the replacement module. So I would say this is now closed.

    Default

JUst a bit of further info

The N1111 / 0x01F8 error you are seeing is the 1F8 device reporting it can't see the device before it which is 0F0

You can see what the devices are here: -

    Mercedes COMAND Diagnostic (Service) Mode

But, yes 0F0 is the phone module as you have discovered the hard way.

The error codes are here: -

    COMAND Error Codes

    Kind Regards

    Richard
