Thread: can all W221 be retrofitted with TV tuner?

Hello,
I own a w221 S350L (Europe, Greece) that was manufactured 0n 07/2008. My car has factory fitted Comand-navi-DVD (options 572 and U72). I would like to retrofit an OEM TV tuner (A221 820 72 80). Going through various MB enthusiast sites I see that even earlier W221 cars can be retrofitted. However to my surprise when I enquired at MB Hellas (Greece) they told me that only later cars (2009 onwards) can be retrofitted with a TV tuner. Does anybody have any information on this. My car's VIN is WDD2211561A2554020

Yes. the older ones can be retrofitted with TV tuner

You need

TV tuner
Bracket
Antenna pack (top of rear windscreen)
Antenna wiring
TV wiring
Some fibre to link into existing fibre network

I have already bought the TV tuner (perhaps hastily) and the part number is
A2218207289. Do you think it will work in my car (German version)?

Yes, that should be fine - but you should have the firmware updated on it by a Mercedes dealer (when they configure it)
