Default Navigation not active [NTG2 Comand APS]

    I There,

I'm testing a NTG2 APS in my work bench, first it refused to boot up, but when I looped the fibre optic , It came to life.
Now is it normal to get" NAVIGATION can not be activated "error When I insert the dvd nav.
IS it neded to connect to car to work properly.

    Thanks

There is a fault in V9.1 disks (in NTG2) where once loaded, the COMAND will do what you describe (I think it says "can't activate navigation") if power is ever lost.

You need to install a V9.0 disk, let it activate and then put the new disk in

The reason COMAND came on and then went off is that it is configured to find something on its fibre optic bus, and the fibre was open circuit (which meant the internal AGW could not talk to the rest of the system)

You can test most things on the bench - it won't update map location without a speed signal though..
