Thread: COMAND NTG 2.5 map update to version 5.0

Hi,

is it necessary to update to firmware 09/29 (january 2010) for installing vers. 5.0 ?

I updated the maps on my ML 320 MY2007, equipped with NTG 2.5 with single disc, installed by myself. Firmware update is 07/51/09/29/00 and maps version 4.1 were installed before. Update was successful.

I tried to update my wife's car with no success. It is an A180, equipped with NTG 2.5 with internal 6 disc changer, installed by myself. Firmware update is 08/05/09/02/00 and maps version 4.1 is installed. The error message is: disc not legible. Contact MB dealer. I tried many times.
I then inserted the disc on my ML and the system reads the disc fine and it tells me that there is no need to update. The disc in therefore not damaged. The A180 DVD reads music and movies, so no dirty DVD lens.

The box the disks the genuine retail disks say that you need firmware 09.29 (i.e Telematics update 01/2010) for V5.0 maps
