Default Comand Sat Nav fault [Comand 2.0DX]

The Sat Nav system in my Mercedes CDI 220 is not working and gives the follwing fault message: NO CD AVAILABLE. PLEASE INSERT NAVI CD TYPE DX. I thought the original CD that came with the car could be damaged so I purchased a new CD. I inserted the new CD and the above message was shown once again. I referred to the Comand manual and was instructed to eject the CD and insert once again. I did this and after a minute or so a new fault message was shown on screen. NO CD AVAILABLE. PLEASE INSERT NAVI CD TYPE DX. The Comand manual does not give any further instructions or advice so I am hoping some one will be able to heklp?

Try a cd cleaning disk. Use one with small brushes and a tiny amount of cleaning fluid
