Default W212 Retrofit Media Interface (UCI)

Hi all,

I have a brand New E Class and I have forgot to buy the UMI!
I found the retrofit kit "A2129003005"

But still I have some question!

Where should I place the calculator since I have no cables from this box to the glove box?

Should I have to other something else???

Regards,

That is a kit with only a few pieces, you need lots more cables / adapters / connectors.

Try here: -

Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes iPod solutions :: Media Interface (UCI) Retrofit Kit for new C , GLK class (W204) and new E/Coupe (W212/W217) Left Hand Drive

Be warned that cars with reversing camera have no function for IPOD video.

Thanks for the information but I have same set of cable that appear in the picture. My problem is more related to the position of the interface in the car.
How(where) it should be installed the car from the factory ?

I try to find over the internet a exploded technical description of the W212!

I am not worried I doesn't have a reverse camera! But thanks for the info.

I bought an additional cable from the calculator to the glove box! But still does anyone have information on how should I install all of this! Does anyone have some document on the installation procedure?

Theres a document on Mercedes Electronics upgrades, installation and retrofits showing how to install Media Interface on a W204 C class.

The W212 is the same, apart from removing the stereo/glovebox is slightly different - but I don't have a non copyright document on that, but basically there is a clip in the middle of the front edge of the glovebox that holds the trim strip above in place which needs pulling down. You then release the catches in the end and centre vents and the strip and vents can be removed - then access to everything else is basically identical to C class

Thanks Richards!
I am doing fine but it's still not finish! I still find out that I was missing a connector for the fiber cable to be able to plug into the radio connector!
I am planning to put all reference of the cables that I have already ordered.
I also have connect the power cable on the original place in the left part of the trunk with the fuse to better retrofit! I am planning to post a complete information when it's finally working as I couldn't find all the required information on the internet to leave a complete documentation for the others that want to do this! By the way I already found other people that are interest in this retrofit!

OK -
Did you also get the part for connecting the video into the NTG4-212 COMAND ?

On NTG4-W204 the connector is single green fakra. On NTG4-W212 the connector is a double green fakra
