I recently swapped to an iPhone with the iPhone cradle (previously had SAP and Nokia) and am very pleased with sound quality and reception.
Just a couple of observations; If I get into my car within range of a WiFi hotspot and the iPhone is connected to the hotspot (which it does with wonderful ease!) the phone will not establish connection with the car. Even when I have driven out of range of the Wifi connection. Bluetooth connection to the car can only be made if I hold down the button on the cradle. Secondly, there is a significant time lag (3-4 sec) between pressing the call connect or disconnect buttons on the steeringwheel and the system responding. This was instant with the SAP module. Is this normal? Presumably it's the bluetooth connection slowing things down? Last edited by whitenemesis; 07-22-2009 at 06:46 AM. |

Hi Whitenemesis
I havent seen the first problem - it sounds like an iPhone software issue ! The other is normal, its just the bluetooth delay - i see 2-3 seconds on a HFP cradle as-well Richard |

Thanks for the feedback Richard,
It's just a little irksome, especially when one doen't have COMAND on and don't know the phone is not connected until it goes off in one's pocket!! I've noticed in this situation, that even if I place the phone in the cradle it will charge but not connect. It usually connects instantly when inserted. The only way to establish connection is to press the cradle button. The phone is broadcasting and discoverable all the time, so could this be a cradle issue? |
