You need to disable the Navigation menu with a diagnostic. Then the time settings will return in the cluster.

Or just remove the old head unit and install a European version. I have one going cheap if you need it.

Thanks! We did that, but the time can only reset to Japan time, and not to selected time, eg change hour and minutes, like ordinary digital clock. Are we doing something wrong?
When you say change the head, can we now change the hour and minutes without diagnostics?

Default clock of sl55amg

actually, the clock can be set just by "reset to factory settings", without use of diagnostics (extra cost). however it just goes back to ,in my case Japan time".
what I want to know is whether there is a way to set the hour and minutes, to my local time!

You have to do what Benzmodz has said, else it will be on Japanese time.

I don;t know where you are but i'd put in a Euro version then you can get the satellite time and change the timezone.
