Need to add the required hardware for my 2009 CLK350 with "standard cell phone wiring". It would seem I have two choices...Go thru dealer to buy and install Merdcedes-Benz model (about $1500) or go to dealer reccommended private installer who reccommends a MoBridge unit for about $900. Dealer says factory parts and installs are always better, pvt installer says that the MoBridge unit is an upgraded, superior system that will work better than M-B unit.

Any comments?

In your case, you already should have a phone connector in the armrest and all you need is an inexpensive Bluetooth puck. If not then it would be simple to just add the armrest parts and phone module since you already have all the wiring.

I was involved with the development of the Mobridge system and since it came out Mercedes have improved what they are offering. There is no difference now.

You will find that the Mercedes solution can be done for less and that it is easier to trouble-shoot in the future.
