Default APS Widescreen CD Retrofit ? [W211]

Hi All,

I was told by a very helpful member on Mercedes Benz Owners Club that I could find the relevant information I need to do a CD retrofit on an APS Widescreen... I have a 2005 55' E280 CDI AG with a Audio 20 stereo I recently bought a NTG of Ebay : mercedes e-class sat nav cd player 2006 on eBay (end time 14-Jul-10 20:00:23 BST)

I don't want to connect the comand purely becuase my car doesn't have the navigation processor etc and I have a TomTom I just want to know can I fit the APS Widescreen so I can use it as a Radio , DVD etc but without comand.

Any help will be sincerly appreciated

The simple answer is that you invested in the wrong pathway. The only viable pathway for you to have the better screen is to purchase NTG2.5 which comes with a 1500 Euro radio and a free navigation.

COMAND NTG1 needs an AGW in the trunk and to put it in a car that had Audio-20-CD you need a big loom that connects the speaker wires from the front to it in the back etc.

Here is a kit to do it

Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: W211 last E, W219 CLS :: W211/W219 (E/CLS) AGW retrofit loom & brackets (NTG1)

You also need a AGW (same website sells it) and the COMAND head unit. You don't have to install a Navigation processor.

It is *so* much simpler to install NTG2.5 - just one small adapter loom.
