Hi All,
I was told by a very helpful member on Mercedes Benz Owners Club that I could find the relevant information I need to do a CD retrofit on an APS Widescreen... I have a 2005 55' E280 CDI AG with a Audio 20 stereo I recently bought a NTG of Ebay : mercedes e-class sat nav cd player 2006 on eBay (end time 14-Jul-10 20:00:23 BST) I don't want to connect the comand purely becuase my car doesn't have the navigation processor etc and I have a TomTom I just want to know can I fit the APS Widescreen so I can use it as a Radio , DVD etc but without comand. Any help will be sincerly appreciated ![]() Merc-Man24

The simple answer is that you invested in the wrong pathway. The only viable pathway for you to have the better screen is to purchase NTG2.5 which comes with a 1500 Euro radio and a free navigation.

COMAND NTG1 needs an AGW in the trunk and to put it in a car that had Audio-20-CD you need a big loom that connects the speaker wires from the front to it in the back etc.
Here is a kit to do it Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: W211 last E, W219 CLS :: W211/W219 (E/CLS) AGW retrofit loom & brackets (NTG1) You also need a AGW (same website sells it) and the COMAND head unit. You don't have to install a Navigation processor. It is *so* much simpler to install NTG2.5 - just one small adapter loom. Richard |
