Can anyone tell me what the correct mercedes part number is for the Command Module? My dealer was about to charge me $3500 for a new one and I'd like to buy one on eBay for a whole lot less!
Thanks, Vik |

Hi,
What country are you in ? The unit is different between North America, Japan, and 'Rest of World' Thanks Richard (ps, use www.search4carparts.com to search on eBay as it will use all the 'wrong spellings' and some languages to find the unit - there is at least one on there at the moment) Last edited by richard; 07-02-2009 at 04:58 PM. |

I've just discovered a resource that you may need some day. My dealership was going to charge me $3500 for a new Command module for my '02 G500 plus labor. I looked at eBay, where I could get a used one for about $750. Then, I found Mid-West Electronics, the place where Mercedes USA sends its Command units to be repaired. If you send them your unit, they'll repair it, provide a 90 day warrantee and charge you $495. They claim that they'll turn the unit around in 2 days or less.

Thanks for that great information.
That part number is only a partial number, and even if I guess that what it could be, its wrong !! The valid units for the G class (W463) are A463 820 10 89 (Europe) A463 820 15 89 (Europe) A463 820 16 89 (Europe) A463 820 17 89 (North America) (cars with option code ZU7 & ZU8 ) A463 820 18 89 (North America) (cars with option code ZU7 & ZU8) A203 827 23 42 (Japan) (cars with option code ZJ1) A203 827 54 42 (Japan) (cars with option code ZJ1) Theres more than one as they get updated over time R |
