You will need some new components. At the very least an amplifier and connectors (obtainable from a new harness).

You will also have to bypass the CD stacker and phone kit.

Is it because the existing AMP is not compatible with the new NTG 2.5 ??

Or is it easy and economical to bypass the amp.

It is because the
HK amplifier
Phone System
CD changer
TV tuner
from NTG1/NTG2 are all not compatible with NTG2.5

What you basically have to do is get a NTG2.5 HK loom and splice it into place or replace existing - you may have to change the subwoofer as-well.

There are some ML/GL/R HK amps on eBay at a great price

Mercedes R350 ML350 GL450 Amplifier Amp Harman Becker : eBay Motors (item 190363687189 end time May-08-10 11:01:16 PDT)

If you are adding NTG2.5 and are an iPod user we suggested adding the Media Interface also..
