Unhappy E320 2003 Audio A20 [dead]

Hi,

I've purchased my Merc E320 (2003) few days ago and apparently the Audio A20 is completely dead, no display no nothing. I have checked the fuse on the side and also the fuse in the boot which seem fine.

What else can i check and how much would it cost to repair /upgrade. Any help would be appreciated as its a little boring in the car without a sound system.

The model is 211.

Cheers

Amir

Check the mini fuse in the back of the radio. Remove the main connector to gain access to it.

You can find instructions how to remove the stereo on Mercedes Electronics upgrades, installation and retrofits

If that doesnt work, let us know whether its an Audio-20-CD or Audio-20-Cassette.

Thanks alot for the quick info. The mini fuse in the back of the stereo..i can't see any. It just has the main connector and then some screws holding a plate...do i need to remove this.

It an Audio A20 with Cassette and CD if this helps. Comand.co.uk have quoted me nearly 2grand to have a DVD /Comand system installed. If i can get this fixed and at least i can wait a few months before i upgrade.

Thanks for all the help.

Best Regards,

Amir

Hi,

If its the casette in the main body (and seperate CD changer) then there is no fuse in the head unit - check the fusemap to see which fuse the head unit fuse.
(Audio-20 CD has the extra fuse)

Contact comand.co.uk and see if they have a spare Audio-20-Casette - I think they might
