Default Would the CD player rip MP3 music

I have a 2010 GL and the command system comes with 4GB storage for music. However, i can not find how to make it rip music from the CDs i put in and store it. The user manual only talked about copies MP3s into the storage. I just can not believe if the system is so stupid that you have to rip off your CDs using a computer, save it on a disc and then copy it to the storage in the car.

Does anyone have any better idea/info? Thanks in advance

Sadly, the system wont rip. If you want stuff on the HD you need to put it on a memory card and put it in the slot then it will copy it. It can't copy from the Media Interface to the internal hard disk either. Maybee it will in a future release of the firmware ..

Since there are approx 40 different possible ways to rip one music file it seems that the only effective way to do this would be to create the compression on a computer.
