Default Stuck GPS

In a 2004 E320 the GPS is on and off again stuck (now mostly stuck!)> I ger verbal commands but half the screen says off road and the other half has be stuck somewhere I am not. I can not find the instructions to "re-boot" the system or clear the fault. Help in where to start would be great. I hope it is the DVD reader as its the only easy to get to item. Thanks in advance.

Certainly does sound related to the reader. How accurate are the verbal commands ?

Find the fuse for the comand system in the fuse box. Pull it out and leave it a few minutes then put it back in.

Then check to see how many satellites the comand is seeing.

Do the nav drive also (fuse in the rear fusebox next to the nav drive) - the fusemap on W211 is in the fusebox at the end of the dashboard (driver's side, under the panel that is covered by the door when the door is shut)
