The alarm on my car has started going off for no apparent reason. I've looked for stuck switches and the obvious things..... Also, one time the compressor (?) under the bonnet kept starting up. The alarm will stop with the key button, but often starts up again. Any clues?

Car is a 53 plate Eclass saloon.
